2025 in Pictures
Chapter 4: My Lawyers Recommend I Post Less
I’ve tried to stay consistent here, but due to unforeseen circumstances I hit a snag between chapters 3 and 4 here (more on that in Chapter 5, hopefully). I think most of you, and rightly so, are looking for an update on my previous chapter…and once again, more on that later…
2025 was a ridiculous year in how stubbornly it refused to move in a straight line. Every time I thought I had a handle on what was happening, something else came in from the side and shifted the whole picture.
Professionally, it was the year I learned how fragile momentum really is. I’d spent years building a role that fit me better than anything I’d done before, only to watch it disappear over the course of a few meetings and a calendar invite. One day I was embedded in stories, shaping work I cared about, trusting my instincts. The next I was updating passwords and exporting hard drives.
2025 doesn’t actually feel finished. There are so many unresolved question marks from the last couple months of the year that even though we’re technically in 2026, my head is still back there.
What’s been hardest to reconcile is that, in the middle of all that, I really grew as a photographer. I made some of my strongest work in 2025, and a lot of it still feels alive to me. I want to spend some time revisiting a few of those images below.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. in New York City
One of the most unnerving and exciting parts of photographing portraits is that you never know what mood, what clothes or vibe your subject is going to bring to a shoot. When Tyrone, who had a great season as a running back with the New York Giants, arrived, I was immediately excited about his glasses and knew I wanted to build the look around them. As he sat down, the waiters at the restaurant were planning for service and started lighting the table candles and it all came together.

Derek Jeter in Michigan
Not much to say here other than sometimes it’s great to meet your childhood idol!
Bobby Witt Jr. in Arizona

If you ask anyone to name the best baseball players right now, they’d without a doubt say Shohei Ohtani and then Aaron Judge. The 3rd name on that list should be Bobby Witt Jr. As an enormous baseball nerd (I won my 15-team competitive fantasy league for the 3rd time in 7 years this past season), I was excited about Witt before he even played his first game. According to Statcast (the stats bible for baseball nerds like me) he is the fastest player and the one who can cover the most ground defensively in the game right now. Any time he’s involved in the action, it’s exciting. On top of all that, he just seemed like a good dude who loves to play baseball and always has a smile on his face.
In March, I flew to Arizona where the Royals have their spring training. Bobby and I met at the team’s facility, and he was so great to work with.
My Dad in Hawaii
Since Covid, my parents snowbird in Hawaii. I try to visit them every year. It’s always so powerful how the calm and cool of Hawaii washes over me as soon as I arrive in that outdoor airport. This past year I suggested that we rent mopeds and bike around the entire island of O’ahu. There’s one section of the island where the beach is accessible at lower tides thru alleys between houses. We pulled off to the side of the road, and I asked my dad to pose, with his helmet still on. I love how triumphant he looks, and the symmetry between the distant islands and the action happening around him without paying him any mind. I showed my mom the photo later that day and she asked me to send her a framed large print, which is now hanging at their home right above the main staircase.
Deuce McBride in New York City

We CitiBiked around Chelsea and then pulled up to this cafe, that happened to be having it’s last day of service before closing. The owner, a huge Knicks fan, was shocked and excited. It was a fun New York moment that happened to be on my birthday.
AJ Dybantsa in Utah
AJ Dybantsa, BYU freshman and projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. At just 18, he carried a level of focus and stillness that felt far beyond his age. Standing there, ball tucked in, he reminded me of a cougar. Calm, alert, and completely aware of his surroundings. Not tense, just ready.
The Savannah Bananas at Yankee Stadium
Everyone from my mother to my barber asked if I’d seen the Bananas, well now I can say I have and I get it and they’re great. They’re more than the Harlem Globetrotter comparison. They understand what it takes to entertain children and they do a really good job at that. It’s more pixar/tik tok than baseball vibes, but it was incredibly fun to experience at Yankee Stadium and the energy from the crowd was electric. If I’m being honest, they were invested in what they were seeing in a way that doesn’t usually happen at Yankee Stadium.
On to 2026!
